Yachts can become recognised by the RYA to run the ‘PWC Safety Course’ for guests, owners and crew.
Setting up an RYA Super Yacht PWC / Jet Ski Training Centre
In recent years, the authorities have put the responsibility on captains and crew to make sure their guests are proficient in the use of PWC’s and the regulations. Captains can now be liable for any breaches of law regarding the operation of jet skis and tenders belonging to their vessel. To help address this, yachts can become recognised by the RYA to run the ‘PWC Safety Course’ for guests, owners and crew.
After completion of the ‘RYA PWC Safety Course’ trainees receive an RYA certificate valid onboard the specified yacht. This certificate is valid for one year for yacht crew, six months for regular guests and the duration of the charter for other guests.
